DESCRIPTION
Long ago there was a lake like none other, and from its waters rose a lady. She and her sister nymphs were reflections of light on still water. They nurtured the roots of the forests, led thirsting creatures down to drink, and made the herbs of the shore grow sweet where they walked.
Mankind came to know her. They sought her lake in their darkest hours, thirsting for guidance… and there, the Lady would offer them a blade. But her blessing fell only upon the worthy, for to carry such a sword was a sacred duty: to guide and guard the realms of man. It was never easily given.
Until one king changed the history of man. But that is a tale for another time.
Her true name has passed from the memory of the world. Still, she is remembered.. as the Lady of the Lake.
Ashenfume's Lady of the Lake captures the water itself: the green deep of summer, resin and cold stone at the shoreline, the glitter of light where the surface moves. Pine and juniper over the still pool; violet leaf and cedar in the body; angelica root, labdanum, and ambergris in the depths… the warmth that lingers after the water has gone still.
