Seventy five raw materials sit in the house ledger, each one photographed and sourced. These four are the most precious things I buy.
Meghalayan oud
Wild Aquilaria from the Khasi hills. The resin forms only where the tree has been wounded, which is why so little of it exists. In Red Hare.
Fifty year Santalum album
Indonesian heartwood, aged half a century before it ever met a still. Time is the only thing that makes it smell this way. In Bastet.
Orris butter
Iris rhizomes dug, dried, and left to rest for years before distillation. The scent does not exist in the fresh root. Only time makes it. In Bastet.
Castoreum
Taken from beaver already trapped, never from an animal killed for scent. Dried, aged, and tinctured slowly. Leather and birch tar without a drop of either. In Badlands.

Ashenfume began as a rebellion against scents that were overhyped, overmarketed, and then locked away by collectors who never let anyone smell them. Fragrance should be a shared passion. So I build each one as a legend you can wear, poured from the finest materials I can find.

Every 15 mL and 30 mL ships in a hinged hardwood case with a velvet bed cut to the bottle. The lid carries the figure the perfume is bound to, engraved one at a time on the laser in my own shop.
