NOTE PYRAMID
Red Hare is inspired by 赤兔馬, the fabled horse of the Three Kingdoms. A proud and legendary steed remembered for impossible speed, ferocity, and nobility.
In the tales of the Three Kingdoms, Red Hare is most famously ridden by Lü Bu 呂布, one of the era’s most infamous warriors whom was a cavalry commander whose name became tied to collapsing dynasties, shifting loyalties, and brutal campaigns that blurred the line between history and legend.
A beast worthy of a man feared across the battlefield.
Ashenfume’s Red Hare imagines this creature forged beneath crimson skies and burning banners: smoke rising from scorched earth, hooves cutting through mud, saddle leather darkened by blood and sweat, resins scarred by flame, and the molten breath of 赤兔馬 moving through the chaos of war.
The fragrance opens with Red Champaka and Honeysuckle Absolute, glowing like floral embers in the battlefield air. Beneath them, dark vetiver, Siberian deer musk tincture, and Meghalayan oud form the body of the beast. Musky, leathery, smoky, and alive with animal heat.
Created in celebration of the Year of the Horse, traditionally associated with fire, determination, movement, and relentless forward momentum.
